Bowel Research UK is on a mission. Over a million people suffer from bowel disease in the UK every year and bowel cancer tragically takes the lives of over 16,000 people each year and remains the second most deadly cancer in the UK.
This cannot be allowed to continue and Bowel Research UK is dedicated to finding effective treatments for bowel cancer and other bowel diseases, to save lives and to help people suffering with bowel conditions to enjoy a better quality of life.
In the UK, bowel cancer and other bowel diseases are woefully underfunded, despite the fact that these conditions can affect anybody.
1 in 15 men and 1 in 18 women will suffer from bowel cancer during their lives.
We believe that a cure for bowel cancer and effective treatments to mitigate, or entirely eradicate, other bowel diseases remains possible – but only if we continue to fund leading research and invest in our scientific and medical communities today to see the benefits tomorrow.
That’s why we’re working with some of the best clinicians – including surgeons, academics, researchers and scientists, to help explore new ideas and techniques to further our work.
Supporting Bowel Research UK will enable us to fund life saving research and help us improve treatments for patients with bowel cancer and bowel disease.
