St Peter’s Trust was founded in 1970 with a legacy of £50,000, donated by a patient of Mr Howard Hanley, consultant urologist at the St Peter’s Group of Hospitals - now comprising Urology at the new UCLH and Nephrology at the Royal Free Hospital (both within University College Medical School). By the time someone shows symptoms, 70% of their functioning kidneys will have been destroyed. Research can change this… we have provided £50,953 to study kidney stones and why they form; £53,624 to investigate the spread of prostate cancer and look at new forms of treatment; and £92,354 to look at the causes of bladder dysfunction.
