Sheffield Oratorio Chorus is a mixed voice choir of 130 people performing major classical works from Renaissance to modern, with high quality orchestras and soloists. We usually sing in Sheffield Cathedral but sometimes in other venues. Our conductor Alan Eost and vocal coach Vivien Pike are well known professional musicians and teachers. Admission to the choir is by audition.

We have a developing education programme including sight-reading and vocal technique classes, individual vocal clinics and advice. There is an apprentice scheme where singers who are not yet ready to audition can get one-to-one help to reach the required standard. There are also opportunities to audition for smaller groups withi the choir.

We have a flourishing social calendar including walks, curry evenings, and are a friendly and welcoming choir where members views are valued. There is a committtee elected at the AGM in November every year which deals with policy, development, and administration of the choir. Many chorus members are active in helping the choir to run successfully.
