Kidney disease is a growing global problem and its wide-ranging impacts can be devastating for individuals and families. Every day in the UK, tens of thousands of people face the physical, emotional and financial burden of dialysis.

Since 1961, we have helped shape the treatment and care of people living with kidney disease. Now, as the leading kidney research charity in the UK, we are driving faster progress for everyone affected by the disease.

It is estimated that there are 7.2 million people in the UK currently living with chronic kidney disease, more than 10% of the population, and rising fast.

Every day our scientists and clinicians are growing their understanding of kidney disease to help us unlock the answers to tackling this devastating condition.

Thanks to the help of our supporters, we have achieved breakthroughs in the diagnosis, treatment and patient care of those affected by the disease.

We’re leading transformation in kidney health. Kidney disease is a growing public health emergency - affecting more than 10% of the UK population and costing billions each year. Yet it remains overlooked and underfunded. This has to change.

We’re more determined than ever to turn the tide. To improve kidney health for everyone at risk we must tackle three key areas. We must prevent more people from developing kidney disease, protect those living with it from kidney failure, and in the meantime, transform treatments for those who need them.

Through research, innovation and collaboration, we’re driving faster progress - ensuring discoveries quickly translate into real-world impact for patients.

Together, with our community of supporters, researchers and partners, we’re making kidney disease impossible to ignore.

Only with your help can we achieve our vision; The day when everyone lives free from kidney disease.
