Ichthyosis Support Group

Ichthyosis is a rare, painful and visual condition affecting as little as 1:300,000 people across the UK. People affected by this condition often feel alone and isolated, children may be taunted by their peers which leads to low self-esteem. Babies struggle to survive and often fail to thrive which can cause death. Adults face the negative attitudes of a society where appearance matters. All those affected have to deal with the rigid daily routines of looking after their condition to prevent the skin from further deterioration, increasing the risk of infection, which can cause death in severe cases.

The Ichthyosis Support Group (ISG) provides support and advice to all affected by ichthyosis, including the Medical profession. We work to ensure those affected have the opportunity to reach their potential and take an active role in society. The ISG is committed to helping to provide better services for people affected by ichthyosis which includes educating health professionals and providing funding for research into such a rare and disabling condition.

By leaving a legacy to the Ichthyosis Support Group in your Will, you can help ensure that our vital work with these individuals, children and families continues.

Giving in this way is a flexible method of funding the future of the organisation and does not affect your day-to-day income. Ultimately your legacy will help to change people’s lives for the better.

Help us plan a better future for all those affected by ichthyosis.
