Making a Will is essential to ensure your wishes are carried out but is also an opportunity to do something amazing. Glaucoma is one of the most common cause of preventable blindness in the UK and ever year over 11,000 people are newly diagnosed with the condition.  By leaving a gift in your Will to Glaucoma UK, you will be continuing the fight against preventable blindness.  You will ensure that everyone with glaucoma will have access to advice, care and treatment enabling them to retain useful sight for life. Your gift will also help to fund vital research; reducing the time it takes to find a cure.

Every gift left to Glaucoma UK, no matter how large or small, will make a difference

Free Will Service

We offer a free will writing service, connecting you with a qualified solicitor in your local area. This makes writing your will simple and convenient.

All supporters aged 55 or over can access the free will writing service. You can have a simple will drafted free of charge by a local solicitor chosen from a UK-wide network of solicitors, all of whom are supporters of The Law Society. If you already have a will, you can take this opportunity to have it updated. There is no obligation to leave a gift to Glaucoma UK.

The offer applies to writing simple wills. If your chosen solicitor advises you that your will is more complicated, you will be asked to pay the solicitor for the extra work involved. Should this be the case, it is your decision whether to proceed with the service, and there is absolutely no obligation to continue if you don’t want to.

Make a Pledge

Gifts left in wills are really important to Glaucoma UK. However even if you haven't made a will, making a pledge to do so in the future would really help us to find out about your future intentions.

Pledges are not legally binding so by filling out this form you are not committing yourself! You are simply allowing Glaucoma UK to confidently estimate future support for their cause.

Leave a Legacy

If you have already made a will but you want to leave a legacy to a charity you can make an addition or change it without re-writing your current will. This addition is called a codicil.

To leave a legacy to Glaucoma UK please download the codicil form below and take it along to your solicitor.

Please note however that this form is not legally binding on its own and has to be part of your main will. We advise you to seek the advice of a solicitor.

If you have any questions about leaving a legacy to us, please contact Glaucoma UK directly – they will be happy to discuss this with you.
