We are pleased to announce that The Cure & Action for Tay-Sachs (CATS) Foundation  has made a grant to the research team in Cambridge investigating a potential treatment for Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff disease.
 
The CATS Foundation has provided a grant of £2,700 which will enable the team to continue the process of completing all the documentation regarding starting the planned clinical trial. Before this can begin there are many different regulatory, ethical and statutory approvals which must be obtained and the team are busy obtaining these.
 
The encouraging news is that with this grant from The CATS Foundation, the team remains pretty well on course for starting the clinical trial in the next two to three years. This will bring some hope and comfort to families affected by these diseases that there is continuing activity in Europe towards the development of potential new treatment.
 
This grant also brings out total support to the research for a potential treatment to £42,700 since we were launched in 2011! This would not have been possible without all of your support and generosity and you can proudly say today that by supporting The CATS Foundation you are making a positive difference to the future for families affected by Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff disease.
