Bowel Research UK is on a mission to save lives and improve care for people with bowel cancer and bowel diseases.

Every year in the UK, over a million people are affected by bowel disease, and tragically, more than 16,000 people die from bowel cancer. It’s the second deadliest cancer in the UK.

This must change. Bowel Research UK is working hard to find better treatments for bowel cancer and other bowel diseases, so people can live longer and enjoy a better quality of life.

Anyone can be affected by bowel disease. In fact, 1 in 17 men and 1 in 20 women in the UK will be diagnosed with bowel cancer in their lifetime.  Despite how common and serious these conditions are, research in this area is chronically underfunded. 

We believe a cure for these diseases is possible. But to get there, we must keep funding high-quality research and support our scientists and researchers today – so we can see results in the future.

That’s why we’re working with some of the best experts in the field – from surgeons and other clinicians to researchers and scientists – to find new ways to treat and beat these diseases.
