Flowers for Heroes

Flowers for Heroes

Help for Heroes, Band of Sisters have joined together to design beautiful bouquets to help raise money for the charity.

Band of Sisters is a fellowship for the families of service men and women, offering a support network and opportunity to meet others who understand what it’s like to care for their veterans and serving personnel who have suffered a permanently career limiting or career ending injury.

Sheena Preston (Norfolk), Cheryl Hall (Essex), Lorraine Jackson (Lincolnshire) and Barbara Luther-Davies (Lancashire) are all members of the Help for Heroes Band of Sisters fellowship and came together to design a bouquet with a special personal meaning to them for the Help of Heroes collection.

Inspired by her own experience Barbara, created the bouquet called ‘At ease’ using soft colours reminiscent of a traditional country garden in a deliberate contrast to how her son described the barren landscape of Afghanistan. When she first saw her son in hospital, she remembers, “As I put my hand out to touch him, in my head I was saying to him ‘at ease, soldier’. I wanted to let him know that he could relax now, his tour was over and he had done his bit."

The full range of flowers are available from Flying Flowers and 15% of each bouquet will be donated to Help for Heroes
