Have you received SEND support in school?

Date Posted: 21 May 2018

If you are a young person or young adult, we want to hear more about your experiences being assessed for, or receiving, SEND support in school for your M.E. You can also fill out our survey if you are the parent or carer of a child with M.E.

Children and young people can often be eligible for SEND support (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), as M.E. impacts on their ability to attend or participate in school.

The Education Select Committee in the House of Commons is seeking evidence on how SEND support is working, following changes implemented in 2014. In order to tell them how this support is working for children and young people with M.E., we want to find out more about:

  • the assessment for SEND support, and whether it accurately captures how M.E. is affecting children and young people
  • the support provided for children and young people with M.E., and whether it is working well
  • the experiences of young adults, aged between 19-25 years old, as they transition out of SEND support for children and young people.

By sharing your experience, you’ll help to inform our response to the Education Select Committee.

There are 20 possible questions in total, but it is likely that not all of them will apply to you. We appreciate any information you are able to give.

Please complete  this survey before 9am on Friday 8 June, when it will be closed to further responses.
