Hand of Grace is a children's orphanage and women empowerment programme that offers a series of women/child programs devoted to the physical, emotional and social development of children and improving the women status. We offer care to orphans and children with no parental care from birth to sixteen years or sixteen years still in basic education. We have play and learn activities and formal education programmes intended to make children develop to their potential.
Children will learn to improve balance, coordination and other sensory stimuli while reinforcing good social skills in a group play environment.Children 16 months through four years will enjoy singing and dancing while getting their first taste of different musical beats and rhythms. Each week, new musical styles will be introduced, such as gospel music, contemporary, and classical tunes. Activities such as instrument exploration, songs and movement to music are designed to provide a positive musical experience for young children.
These types of services are unique in that there is no other organisation in the city of Juba delivering them.
Hand of Grace is located in outer Juba that serves the whole city orphans. Over the past six years, there has been tremendous housing growth in the Juba city and returnees who were displaced because of war.The exact number of children who are in the streets is not known but they are quite many as there are no services catering for their needs. To reduce crime rates and premature deaths in Juba and South Sudan children need not to be roaming the streets aimlessly. We anticipate of taking 240 children out of the streets in the first year and providing skills training to poor women in Juba would be a way of reducing crime and poverty.
