About us

Kilbryde Hospice is a Scottish charity that provides hospice services in South Lanarkshire and the surrounding area for adults with life-limiting conditions. Kilbryde Hospice currently offers support to patients and their families and carers through its day services and drop in centre, from the hospice building on the grounds of Hairmyres Hospital.

Kilbryde Hospice also provides a home care service, staffed by a dedicated team based in the hospice. The service offers support to patients and their carers and families in their own homes when they need it most. The in-patient unit is due to open before the end of 2017 and will provide specialist palliative care through 12 in-patient beds within the hospice.

It cost Kilbryde Hospice over £4 million to build the hospice, but this figure would have been much higher if it hadn’t been for the generosity of local companies donating goods and services free of charge. The immediate challenge facing Kilbryde Hospice is to raise the annual running costs of £2.5 million which will be required to provide our services when the hospice is fully operational.

A proportion of the running costs for our day services, care at home and drop in are received from NHS Lanarkshire, and talks are currently ongoing with the health board to secure funding towards our in-patient services.
