“One boy told us that he really loves watching cricket and was now so pleased that he knew how to play it also,” said Sioned Parish-James, KidsOut Fun Days Coordinator.

This week a group of children met for the first time to learn about cricket through the charityWicketz, which works to engage children from underprivileged backgrounds in the classic sport. Meeting together at a school in Luton, the group of children played games and learnt about team building with a professional cricket coach. The children have the opportunity to continue with the sessions on a weekly basis, with the possibility to meet famous players and attend other Fun Days out.

“The session was so good and the children really enjoyed it. They didn’t have to know anything about cricket before, they just came and had fun together,” said Parish-James. “One boy told us that he loved it so much he planned to go every week!”
