EDUCATION INCORPORATING LIFE SKILLS IS TRANSFORMATIVE

Date Posted: 26 Jan 2026

Research shows that if children struggle with social, emotional, language and communication skills, their wellbeing and capacity to learn are hampered.  This often leads to them falling behind and underachieving – with long term repercussions.

OUR WORK CAN BE TRANSFORMATIVE

We have been supporting schools for 30 years with teaching resources and essential life skills training, advocating the inclusion of personal development alongside traditional academic learning.  The significance of explicit personal development education, starting early on in life, is now being recognised and incorporated into Ofsted school inspections.

This is an exciting time for us!  We have 2 programmes (one for pre-school ages 3 to 5 and one for the primary phase, for ages 5 to 11) that provide fun ways of better balancing the intense focus on academic learning with nurturing human, life-enriching qualities – see the-big-think.org

Our uniquely values-based approach empowers children with an expanding personal bank of well-considered values at a critically formative time in their lives.  They learn to draw on them to guide their thinking, behaviour, actions and choices.

Teachers and parents both delight in seeing such happy children, progressively armed with positive mindsets along with key social and emotional competencies.  They are thrilled to witness children maximising their talents and interests, while making positive contributions to their families, schools and wider communities.

Please support us ... together we can make transformative differences to the wellbeing and prospects of hundreds of socio-economically deprived children.  Empowering them so they start their education with essential life skills, enables them to fulfil their potential – whatever their social backgrounds - and enjoy happy, healthy, purposeful and productive school days.
