Birmingham Botanical Gardens is a rich, uniquely biodiverse natural environment and one of the UK’s most significant historic Botanic Gardens. Situated one mile from the city centre, this is Birmingham’s Garden: its green and generous heart.

For almost two centuries The Gardens has shared J.C. Loudon’s original 1829 garden design and collection of 7,000 plants with millions of people and has been an integral part of Birmingham’s physical, educational, cultural and emotional landscape.

As a registered charity, we rely on income generated from visitor and member campaigns, grants and generous donations from people who share our vision to educate and make the Gardens accessible for everyone now and for future generations.

Our vision is for a diverse botanical world that enhances all our lives.

Our mission is to support plant biodiversity and an understanding of its importance to the natural environment through conservation, education, engagement, and enjoyment.

Help us to protect the rich scientific heritage of Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens and share in our discovery of the botanical world.
