Up-2-Us was set up in 2008 by an experienced group of professionals from social work and social care, health, academia, policy and the business world.

Up-2-Us promotes a person centered and outreach respose to the issues presented by referrers and service users.  Each of its four projects use a relational, one-to-one approach to build strengths, resiliance to setbacks and engage young people in society and positive life plans.  

Up-2-Us projects are:

Parent & Child Change Project

Accepts referrals from Social Work, Health & Education in West Dunbartonshire. The team provides an integrated Child and Family support service for vulnerable individuals and siblings at risk of further statutory involvement. Accepts male & female referrals, aged between 12-16 years. Project workers and volunteers offer 24/7 relationship based support to individuals, siblings & parents within a family support model with one-to-one and group working activities. Resource Team Short Term & Respite Accommodation

Provides accommodation for young people for up to 100 days per year, though not more than 28 days in one period. Placement can be planned or crisis, short or medium stay, as part of transition or prevention planning. The team builds on what's working in existing Care Plans so we will arrange continued attendance at school or other activity & appointments that are important.  Provides support 24/7 to young people and parents in accommodaiton or on an outreach basis. Resource Team Community Outreach

Accepts male & female referrals up to 20 years from local authorities in the West of Scotland. The team offers flexible, person–centred response with individually tailored packages of care & support. Young people & families have 24/7 access to support. This is holisitc with one-to-one and occassional group work for young people, parents & schools. Time for Change

This is a gender informed service with 24/7 oncall access, characterised by a relationship and strength based approach within a holistic model. This initiative engages with very High Risk and Vulnerable Girls & Young Women who can be referred up to 21 years of age.  Girls can be referred from West of Scotland Social Work, Secure Accommodation or similar, and through the YOIs, including self-referral. Project workers provide one-to-one outreach support in the Community. Project workers are also based in HMP Cornton Vale one day a week to provide advice, liaison with other services and transitional support.
