Prostate Cancer UK focuses on supporting men and providing information to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. This is the only UK's prostate cancer organisation to provide telephone and email helpline staffed by specialist nurses.
Their specialist nurses are here to talk via telephone and answer questions about prostate cancer and prostate problems providing emotional support. They can signpost callers to other organisations for additional help if required.
The organisation also offers online community and one-to-one support service connecting men and their families with others who relate to what they're going through. Their One-to-one support is handled by volunteers, who have been trained to listen and offer the appropriate advices to those who are suffering.
Prostate cancer UK works with the general public, the government and the NHS to raise awareness and improve care for men with prostate cancer.
Prostate Cancer UK also funds vital research into tests, treatments and finding out the causes of prostate cancer. Owing to the income raised by the Movember Foundation, the charity is committed to spend over £7 million to new research each year for at least the next three years. The organisation is focused on identifying men at highest risk of developing prostate cancer and to create new targeted treatments for advanced prostate cancer.
The charity aims to achieving differences for men affected by prostate cancer by the year 2020.
