Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land (SHADH), is a British-registered charity set up in 2000 by Englishwoman Lucy Fensom to rescue and care for working and abandoned donkeys in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. In addition to our sanctuary in Israel, which is home to over 148 unwanted and abused donkeys, Lucy and her team also provide free veterinary care for many hundreds of working donkeys and education on animal welfare for their owners every week in towns and villages on both sides of the border. SHADH relies entirely on the generosity of the public to be able to continue its work with these gentle and hardworking animals in one of the most volatile parts of the globe – please support us, every donation helps us reach out to donkeys and horses who desperately need our help.
