Kids had an 'Eggs-ellent' time this Easter!

Date Posted: 15 May 2017

During the Easter half term, over 234 children and adults from refuges across the UK enjoyed their break by visiting their local farms, zoos and wildlife parks. These included: Battersea Park ZooSwithens FarmLancaster Farm and Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park.

The families were able to create positive memories by seeing the animals and being able to spend time with one another. One refuge worker who visited Swithens Farm in Leeds said, The children were able to feed the lambs, pet the other animals and have loads of fun! Thank you for giving us this opportunity.” Another refuge worker has also given feedback about their trip to Lancaster Farm: “It was lovely to see the children and their mums enjoying themselves and showing their love for animals.”

The children really enjoyed themselves and it seems they would like to see the animals once more. One boy who visited Battersea Park Zoo said, “This trip was awesome! This is the best zoo ever. I want to come back again please!”

We are delighted that the children had a wonderful time at the farms, zoos and wildlife parks nationally. We hope to continue helping them create more positive and fun memories through our Fun Days service.

Below are some drawings made by the children themselves!
