“The KidsOut Hasbro Party was absolutely amazing,” said Anna, a Kensington refuge worker. “The children had an amazing time and the mums were so happy!”

On the 15^th of December, 140 children and carers attended a Christmas party thrown by Hasbro at the Thistle Inn, Terminal 5 Heathrow. Featuring a disco and magic show from 2Stepz entertainers, a Santa’s Grotto, fabulous meal and personalized presents, the event was a fun distraction for the families from spending time in refuge.

With more than 25 Hasbro employees chipping in to help, a special Design and Decoration team dressed the room for Christmas and made sure it was the best party anyone could hope to attend. “The children were so impressed that they were given presents labelled with their names, ‘how did Santa know?’” said Anna. “They also couldn’t believe that they had been given the quality toys they were hoping for—it was just as they had seen them on television.”

Supporting KidsOut for several years, Hasbro has provided phenomenal assistance in 2015 alone. In addition to funding an entire Christmas party for children in refuge, the company donated 1,200 toy boxes for the Toy Box service in August, redecorated and restocked the playroom of a women’s refuge, and provided another 600 toys for the KidsOut Giving Tree initiative.

“Hasbro has been an exemplary supporter,” said Sandra Doherty, KidsOut Head of Children’s Services. “Every year their generosity is essential to the work that we do, but this year they have gone above and beyond. They’re efforts make such a difference to the children we serve.”
