Browns Angling supports KidsOut with Reel-ly big cheque

Date posted: 01 May 2015

A huge thank-you to Stewart, Ian, Matt and all the Browns Angling staff for raising an incredible £1170 for KidsOut by hosting “An Evening with Kevin Nash”, alongside an auction with prizes donated by Browns Angling and Nash Tackle.  Thanks to the generosity of all who attended the event you will make such a huge difference to disadvantaged children in the UK.

Kevin Nash has been involved in carp fishing since he was eight years old and is one of the pioneers of it’s growth in this country; indeed, he has invented and made carp-fishing specific tackle for many years.  Kevin formed his own company, Nash Tackle, which is one of the premier carp fishing tackle and bait companies in the UK.  The evening was a chat-show style interview conducted by Brown’s manager Steve Lee.  Guests were also invited to ask questions about Kevin’s angling experience, business ups and downs and private life.  Steve said later, “…. we thank Kevin for his eloquent, open replies to what were at times some pretty hard hitting questions.  For many years he has been an enigmatic figure shunning the limelight, never doing trade shows, interviews, etc so we are very grateful for this opportunity.  It was well attended and something we hope to repeat with different guests in the future.”

Browns Angling has chosen KidsOut as their “charity of choice” for this year.  The team has been working closely with KidsOut to help bring fun and happiness to children across the UK.  As Gordon Moulds, KidsOut CEO, pointed out, “It is fantastic to have the support of companies from Leighton Buzzard.  Without our supporters we are powerless so it is thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and fundraisers that we can make the difference we do to children. So we’d like to say thank-you so much to Browns for all you have been doing for us and know the difference it makes!”
