A Wagamama Experience for Children from Refuge!

Date Posted: 05 Feb 2015

The plates were left spotless with many happy faces after an incredible time at the Japanese restaurant, Wagamama, in Leeds on Friday 30th January.

It was a first-time experience for many of the 100 mums and children from the Leeds area. The highly talented magician, Oliver Parker, provided magical entertainment as the children tucked into their delicious Japanese dishes. An opportunity to take a tour of the kitchens and to meet the chefs was very exciting for the children as they learnt about the role of the chefs and their amazing recipes. After a very enjoyable time, all of the children left with a brand new toy to take home.

Afterwards, KidsOut received some exceptional feedback from Samantha, a refuge worker:

“I wanted to thank you for an amazing time on Friday, the families really enjoyed it and were so happy with their gifts. The food was amazing and plentiful. The staff at Wagamamas were fantastic.

Thank you also for the additional toys that were donated, these will be used to replenish some of our baby toys in our playroom at the refuge and the others will be used as gifts in the children’s welcome packs on arrival at the refuge.

A big thank you to everyone”

Our thanks to Wagamama for donating this great experience as an auction prize at the KidsOut Ball last year, to their Operations Director, Glyn House and Executive Chef, Steve Mangleshot, and to all of the Wagamama staff who helped on the night at Wagamama in Leeds, Park Row. We would also like to thank Stuart and Trish Fletcher, Chris Outram and Olly Benzecry for their selfless generosity in donating their hard-won auction prize back to KidsOut so that we could make the evening possible.
