REASEHEATH STUDENTS GET CLOSER TO THE TARGET!

Broughton House found themselves very lucky indeed when Reaseheath Students once again picked up the fundraising gauntlet and this time chose Broughton House as their RAG Charity for academic year 2012 – 2013.

Flagship week 20 April – 28 April saw innovative fundraising ideas take shape starting with a collection in Nantwich town centre finalising the week with a BBQ night plus many fundraising activities sandwiched in the middle!  The most impressive fundraiser by far was a static 9 hour cycle ride by a team of 12 Students covering the mileage from London to Berlin (a staggering 665 miles) as a tribute to War Veterans.

RAG is thought to originate from the Victorian era where students took time out of their year to collect rags to clothe the poor.  In recent years more suitable phrases have been developed incorporating the change from clothes to cash “Raise and Give” being one of them.  The Students of Reaseheath have certainly embraced this concept and Broughton House remains thankful of their support.  Not only have they raised a staggering amount of cash but they have had a great deal of fun by the looks of the photos and are proud to support the Ex-Service community of Broughton House.

Thank you Reaseheath Students!
