About Us

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT), founded in 1946 is one of the world's most respected wetland conservation charities and saves wetlands for wildlife and people.

Our founder, the late Sir Peter Scott passionately believed in bringing people and wildlife together. Today, his legacy lives on in the wetland conservation work we carry out all over the world and in our network of UK wetland centres comprising 2,600 heactares of globally important wetland habitat.

Visitors of all ages and abilities enjoy this spectacle at close quarters. WWT's research, conservation and education work has helped ensure the survival of many of the world's threatened waterbirds.

We depend on voluntary support to continue our work and none of what we do would be possible without the support of our members and the families and individuals who visit our wetland centres each year.
