Alexandra Palace has dominated the North London skyline since opening as a place of fun, wonder and public recreation in 1873. The Palace and surrounding 196-acre Park of today host an eclectic range of events which attract 3.5million visitors every year.
Alexandra Palace is at a transformational point; the most historic and treasured parts of the building are currently in a derelict state and hidden from public access. These include a beautiful Victorian Theatre which has remained untouched since the 1930ís and the original BBC Studios from which the first public high-definition television broadcast was made in 1936.
Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust aims to restore and re-open these historic spaces to be enjoyed by the public once again. To do this, we need to raise the final £1million that is needed to ensure completion of the project.
