Fox Killed in Home-Made Snare in Northamptonshire
A male fox was found dead with a metal wire around its neck held together with gaffer tape in what RSPCA inspectors believe was a home made snare.
The fox was also missing a rear foot which may have been caught in a secondary trap.
The snare, which was found on land at the back of Corby Road, Weldon, was thought to be home-made with wire and gaffer tape.
If you have any concerns about the use of snares, anywhere in the UK, you can share them with us on our SnareWatch website.
You can tell us if your pet was caught in a snare, report findings of animals trapped in snares, raise concerns about possible illegal misuse of snares or simply let us know if you’re worried about snares you have seen in a particular area. All reports we receive will help our campaign to ban these inhumane, indiscriminate traps.
If there is a live animal in the snare call the relevant animal welfare charity. We do not advise trying to release an animal yourself as the animal could be injured and require medical attention.
