How to make the most of your micro-site
A simple guide to help you get more supporters
Your new Charity Choice subscription package, gives you all the tools you need to attract and engage supporters, promote your cause and get results.
We want you to make the most of the features at your disposal, so we’ve put together this simple guide to getting the best from your microsite:
Personalise your page
Create and control your own highly customised and attractive profile page. Add information about your charity, what its aims are, and how your supporters’ efforts can help. The more people that know about the work you do, the more support you will receive. Charities with a premium account can also upload a logo and choose a background colour scheme to match.
Bring your cause to life by uploading photos to your microsite. Adding snapshots of your charity’s beneficiaries, or of volunteers and fundraisers getting involved can help potential supporters to visualise what you do and increase your chance of getting them onboard.
Tell your supporters
Make it easy for your supporters to find your Charity Choice microsite. Adding buttons to your website, emails, blogs and e-zines will direct your supporters straight to your charity’s page. Login to your charity admin area, select ‘My Account’ tab and use the ‘My Marketing Tools’ under this – you will find ‘donate now’, ‘fundraise for us’ and Charity Choice buttons. Use the easy to follow instructions on how to add these to your communications. And don’t forget to tell your supporters they can now fundraise for you through Charity Choice. Why not email them a link to your microsite?
Promote your events
List upcoming events and make them easily seen by your visitors. Events you create will automatically appear on your page and on the Charity Choice events calendar, with details of how your supporters can take part and fundraise on your behalf.
Ask for volunteers and goods
Simply post details of volunteering opportunities and goods requests on your microsite, so that your supporters can see all the ways they can help your charity and quickly respond to any requests they are able to fulfil.
Generate legacy gifts
Help your supporters to understand how legacy support can help your cause and give them a simple way to leave a gift in their will. Our specially designed legacies section includes downloadable pledge and codicil forms, so charities of all sizes can generate gifts online. We have uploaded legacy materials that you can use or you can use your own.
Highlight your appeals
Post information about specific appeals and the causes they support. Donations made to specific appeals will show in dedicated appeals reports. You can even set up separate bank accounts so you can easily keep track of where donations are going.
Keep supporters in the loop
Post regular stories and articles in our easy-to-use news section. Keep your supporters up-to-date on your charity’s achievements, current projects and ongoing campaigns.
Set up alerts and reports
Measure your success with our donation reports and alerts. Your own easy-to-use account will allow you to run reports and export the information, and set up alerts to be sent directly to your inbox.
Link with facebook and other social media
Update all your social media webpages in just one click. Every time you add news, appeals and events, a post will appear on your Facebook / Twitter wall – with a one-click link to your giving page. If you don’t have a Facebook page visit www.facebook.com to set one up.
