Beyond Cancer would like to thank everyone who supported our Annual Charity Fundraising Ball which took place on 31st May 2014 at Leeds Marriott Hotel. The event was attended by 260 people and was an amazing success, raising £6,100.00.

Guest Speaker Sheila O’Shea, Appeal Director at Yorkshire Cancer Centre who is responsible for driving the The Yorkshire Cancer Centre Appeal, gave an insighful talk about the work of the Centre.

From the proceeds, £2,500 has now been presented to The Yorkshire Cancer Centre, where it was greatly welcomed and will be used to purchase 3 rise-recliner chairs for the Oncology Day Unit from their Wish List. These comfortable chairs are continually in use for patients receiving chemotherapy in the Unit.

The remaining funds will be used to continue the work of Beyond Cancer in particular the Special Wishes Programme and the newly developed Hardship Fund, for those who may require some additional financial support whilst receiving treatment.
