The Mayor of Luton, councillor Mohammed Farooq, will be the guest of honour at the event, he will be joined by officials from the Malawi High Commission.

Unika’s objectives are to help the elderly and the communities in order to assist the vulnerable claim their rights, challenge discrimination and overcome poverty.

Money raised from the event will go to hosting a Christmas dinner for the elderly in the UK and completion of Nathanje Borehole project in Malawi.

 
 

Munya Sajanga, founder and trustees of Unika Charity, said: “Our aim is to build a socially inclusive society where all people feel valued, their differences respected and their basic needs met so they can live a dignified life,

“Right now there are about 450,000 older people who spend their Christmas period on their own with no family or friends to visit them during the festive season. It’s not that right any one should suffer such horrible loneliness, we are here to offer that friendship.”

There will be performances from UK based artists and reggae singers on the night.

Tickets are £20, which includes a buffet dinner, it starts at 7.30pm.
