9 September - FASD Day

Date Posted: 18 Aug 2016

Meet Niamh - one of the many thousands of children and young adults living in the UK today with FASD (Foetal alcohol spectrum disorder).  9th September is her day, when this year we are focusing on raising awareness of what it is like to grow up being affected by FASD.

(9th September was chosen as FASD Day as it is the 9th day of the 9th month representing the 9 months of pregnancy when abstaining from alcohol is recommended as the healthiest choice for baby and mum; and it removes all risk of baby being born affected by FASD.)

YOU can help us spread this simple message of no alcohol in pregnancy and enable us to continue to support thousands of other children and young people like Niamh by donating to our work today, or why not organise your own event for 9 September?

To find out more about what we do, why not look at our website, sign up to receive our newsletter and consider giving to us on a regular basis?
