Women for Women is releasing two new challenge events for 2014:

Trek the Great Wall of China

Cycle Tanzania and Zanzibar

Coming to you from the providers of the UK’s longest running women-only challenges, Women for Women is raising money for Genesis Research Trust and we need you to get involved!                                                                                                              

Women for Women challenges are a fantastic way to keep you motivated to get fit and healthy in 2013. What could be a better motivation to exercise then knowing at the end of your training you will be travelling on a once in a lifetime trip with a group of supportive, caring and inspiring women?!

Women for Women challenge events take you to original destinations where you will cycle or trek through some of the most beautiful and untouched places in the world, guided by experienced experts. In 2012 our supporters experienced breath-taking views in our Trek Nepal challenge, exploring temples of Kathmandu and trekking amongst the Himalayan Annapurnas. Other supporters joined us for the Women for Women Central America Cycle Challenge, where they cycled through tropical rainforests, visited the Panama Canal and finished their trip in the stunning town of Granada in Nicaragua.

This year you can join us for our trek on the Great Wall of China where you will experience history and culture like never before. Some highlights of the trip will be climbing the Wuzoulou Mountain and seeing China from 1,000m, visiting the Black Dragon Pool Park and trekking some of the more unseen and remote parts of the Great Wall. For those of you with a preference for cycling, why not join us for our trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar, where you will be engulfed in a tropical paradise. The challenge begins in the ancient town of Bagamoyo where natural beauty and cultural heritage are perfectly combined, you will be cycling past perfect beaches on roads lined with palm trees and thatched huts, and you will visit Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our women come from all different backgrounds, with varying fitness levels and their own personal reasons for choosing to support us. All we ask you to do is fundraise a minimum amount for Genesis Research Trust. Genesis Research Trust was founded in 1985 by Professor Robert Winston as a charity to finance vital medical research into the causes and cures for conditions affecting women and babies. For many of us, having a child of our own is the most fulfilling experience of our lives. All of us can imagine the desperation and sadness of parents who lose a baby, and the life shattering impact that a handicapped or seriously ill child can have on a family. Our scientists produce innovations of national importance and lead the way in understanding and finding solutions to the most dangerous journey that all humans make – through conception, pregnancy and birth.
