Working to restore to steam operation the unique tug-tender DANIEL ADAMSON, built at Tranmere in 1903 and in service from 1935-1984 as the Directors' inspection and hospitality vessel for the Manchester Ship Canal Company.

Donations are sought to support a major application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for the full restoration of the vessel, including two very fine art-deco saloons and a promenade deck.

We are pleased to have received a 'First Round Pass' from HLF in October 2012 plus funding to help us develop a Second Round final bid for funding during 2013.

Once in service, we will operate heritage cruises under steam in Liverpool and the the Lower Mersey, in the Manchester Ship Canal between Eastham and Salford Quays, and in the Weaver Navigation as far as the Anderton Boat Lift.

Special terms and provisions will be made for educational and for disadvantaged community groups.

There will also be a vibrant range of activities while the vessel is moored in key locations.

Please note that while the contact is via an East Coast address, this is firmly a Manchester and Mersey regional project!
