How do I register as a fundraiser?
If you're ready to start raising money for your favourite charity, simply click here to get started. You only need to fill in a few details, and then you're free to start personalising your very own fundraising page.
Can I support more than one charity?
At the moment our fundraisers can only choose to support one charity per event. If you would like to support more than one charity, you can set up a separate fundraising appeal for each charity and ask your sponsors to choose the one they would prefer their donation to go to.
Other than fundraising, there are many other ways to support your favourite charities on Charity Choice: you can become their friend and raise awareness of their work, or you could donate money, time or goods to them. Whatever you choose to do for your favourite charities, you can be sure it will be greatly appreciated.
I can't find my favourite charity on the Charity Choice website.
If you can't find your favourite charity on Charity Choice, they probably haven't activated their account with us. Send us an email with the charity's details and we'll let them know you want to raise money on their behalf.
How much of the money I raise goes to the charity?
At Charity Choice we've tried to cut costs for our charities as much as possible and, unlike many other online fundraising websites, we do not charge registration fees or commission. For full details of Charity Choice's fees and charges, click here.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a tax relief from the Government which helps charities to earn more on their donations. To donate under the Gift Aid scheme the donor must be a UK taxpayer and have paid sufficient tax (as income tax and/or capital gains tax) to cover the amount that will be claimed by the charity in each tax year. Your chosen charity must be registered with HMRC in order to be eligible for this.
How does Gift Aid work?
If your sponsors are UK taxpayers, their donations can be increased by 25% and it won't cost them a penny. So for every £10 they donate, charities can reclaim an extra £2.50 in tax from HM Revenue & Customs. All you need to do is ensure that your sponsors tick the Gift Aid box when they make their donation and your chosen charity will receive an extra 25%.
We really want to help charities benefit from this extra income so we're offering to collect Gift Aid at no cost for all of our charities. We will claim the tax back from HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of the charity and send the full amount to them every month.
Why are some donations not eligible for Gift Aid?
Unfortunately, not all donations are eligible for Gift Aid. Charities are unable to claim Gift Aid on your donation if:
- you are not a UK taxpayer.
- the donation was made in return for services or goods.
- you are donating on behalf of another individual or a company.
- the donation was made to a family member who is taking part in an event where the charity has covered all or part of their expenses.

Don't worry! Simply click here to receive a password reminder.
How can I change my password?
If you would like to change your password, simply log in to your account and go to My Account Profile. Click on My Password, where you'll find a form to change your password.
How can I update my details?
Log in to your account and click on My Account Profile. You can change your account details and contact information within this section.
How can I update the date of my event?
Log in to your account and go to the My Fundraising section. Click on Edit Event Details next to the event you would like to update, and you will be redirected to your event page. From here you can make any changes necessary.
How do I cancel my fundraising page?
If you're sure you want to cancel your fundraising page, log in to your account and click on My Account Profile. At the bottom of the page you'll see a Deactivate Account button. Simply click on the button to cancel your fundraising page.
If you think you'll do some more fundraising in the future, or you are a regular giver, you can reactivate your fundraising page at any time. We'll hold all of your details until you're ready to come back, then all you'll have to do is log in and reactivate the page, or you can create a new fundraising event.
How can I direct people to my fundraising page?
It's extremely important that your friends and family know that you're raising money for charity. When you create your fundraising page, you'll be able to choose a personalised Charity Choice Web Address. Simply include it in your emails and Facebook posts, and your friends and family will be directed to your sponsorship page.
How can I add an event to my page?
To add an event, log in to your account and go to My Fundraising. When you click on Create New Fundraising Event, this will direct you to a form where you can choose whether you want to take part in an organised event or create your own, and specify which charity you want to raise sponsorship for. Simply press Next to continue onto the next stage of the process.
I set up my fundraising page for the wrong charity - what can I do?
Simply login to your account and delete the incorrect event page. You will then need to set up the event again but with the correct charity details.
My event has been cancelled - what can I do?
We're sorry to hear that your event has been cancelled. To prevent anybody from making any more donations to your page, please log in to your account and go to My Fundraising. Click on Close Event and set the event to Inactive.
We would recommend that you get in touch with the people who have already sponsored you and ask them if they would like a refund. The donations that have been made to your page so far will have already been paid to the charity, so you will have to contact the charity directly and ask them if they are willing to refund the donations. Please click here to find the charity's contact details.
I am unable to complete my event - can I get a refund for my donors?
We're sorry to hear that you were unable to take part in your fundraising event. To prevent anybody from making any more donations to your page, please log in to your account and go to My Fundraising. Click on Close Event and set the event to Inactive.
We would recommend that you get in touch with the people who have already sponsored you and ask them if they would like a refund. Any donations made to your page so far will have already been paid into the charity's bank account, so you will have to contact the charity directly and ask them if they are willing to refund the donations. Please click here to find the charity's contact details.
Can people donate from overseas?
Yes, Charity Choice allows people to make donations abroad. Our website only accepts donations in GB pound sterling, so donations will have to be calculated in the foreign currency and converted using a currency converter.
Can I add offline donations to my page?
It's really important to show all of your supporters just how well your fundraising is going, so you can log all of your offline donations onto your profile, and they'll be included in your fundraising total to date.
Do I need to contact my charity to tell them I am fundraising for them?
No, there's no need to contact the charity. Every time someone sets up a fundraising page we notify the charity that someone is planning to raise money for them. They'll also be able to track how well your fundraising is going using our reporting service.
My friends weren't able to sponsor my page.
We're sorry to hear that your friends have had difficulties donating to your page.
Please ask them to make sure that they have entered all of their bank details correctly, including their name as stated on the card and the address where their bank card is registered to.
Please also ensure that there are sufficient funds in their bank account to cover the cost of the donation.
If they have checked all of the above and the problem still persists, please ask them to contact us by emailing enquiries@charitychoice.co.uk or call 020 7549 8651 and we'll try and identify the problem.
Why are some of my sponsors anonymous?
When making a donation, your sponsors are given the option of remaining anonymous. Although they appear as anonymous on your page, we hold their details at Charity Choice so that we are still able to claim back Gift Aid on any eligible donations.
Some of my donations haven't come up on my fundraising page.
If someone's donation doesn't appear on your fundraising page, it probably suggests that their donation hasn't been processed properly. Please ask your sponsor whether they received a donation confirmation email from Charity Choice. If they have, and the donation still isn't logged on your fundraising page, they may have accidentally donated to someone else's page. Please contact us by emailing enquiries@charitychoice.co.uk or call us on 020 7549 8651 and we'll try and identify the problem.
