There are many ways to support Operation WellFound in your will. Whichever way you choose, a gift in your will is a great way to ensure that you make a lasting contribution to our cause. We guarantee that 100% of your donation will go towards delivering water and saving lives.
How you can help
There are three ways of supporting Operation WellFound in your will, once you’ve provided for your loved ones. All three are tax free and easy to set up. You can:
- leave a residuary gift. This is typically a percentage share, or the whole of, your estate. Giving this way is great if you’re young because it avoids the problem of inflationary pressure reducing the true value of your gift.
- leave a pecuniary gift. This is a fixed monetary amount, the real value of which decreases with inflation.
- leave a physical gift. We’ve had some strange ones in the past! But any gift is massively appreciated, no matter how small.
Writing your will
If you have already written your will don’t worry – it’s not too late! You can make amendments to your will by sending a codicil form to your solicitor. This simple form allows you to make any changes and will be read out in conjunction with your original will. You can find a pdf version of one here; just print it out, fill it in, and send it off to your solicitor. He’ll sort the rest out for you.
If you haven’t yet written your will you need to see a solicitor to do so. It’s very easy to add donations to Operation WellFound; all you need to do is give your solicitor our registered address and charity number and let him know how much you want to donate.
