Buffer Zone Poaching Patrols - Successful 1st Year

Date Posted: 19 Jul 2016

In 2016, Tigers4Ever continued to provide anti-Poaching Patrols in the Buffer Forests around Bandhavgarh National Park. This project is the first of its kind in India and has resulted in a dramatic reduction in wild tiger deaths and man-animal conflict since its inception in July 2015. Tigers4Ever is delighted to report that there have been no wild tiger deaths due to poaching or poisoning in the buffer forests of Bandhavgarh since these patrols were launched (this compares to 6 tiger deaths in 2014-15 and increases in cases of poisoning and poaching at most other Indian tiger reserves in 2016). The Field Director at Bandhavgarh National Park wishes to use the Tigers4Ever Buffer Zone Poaching Patrol model in other wild tiger territories and Tigers4Ever is currently collaborating to produce a paper for this purpose. Tigers4Ever needs to raise at least £590 per month (£7080 per annum) to keep the Buffer Zone Patrolling at current levels. Discover more at:
