Kilimanjaro Trek
Fancy taking on the world’s highest freestanding mountain for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice?
Feb 19 2015
Mar 19 2015
This charity trek is a tough challenge, but standing at 5896m, the snow-capped peaks of Mt Kilimanjaro will offer you amazing memories as you view the dusty African plains, huge glaciers that flow from the summit and beautiful ice formations.
The rewards are well worth pushing your body and mind the its physical and mental limits – this is a mighty charity challenge!
The trek will take you along the beautiful Machame route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the south, allowing gradual acclimatisation to the altitude and an excellent chance of reaching the summit. You will traverse through dense tropical rainforest, moorland and scree until you reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point. On reaching the summit you will feel a sense of overwhelming achievement, a truly unforgettable charity challenge.
