Let your legacy live on
Would you consider leaving a legacy to Scripture Union, so we can continue bringing the good news of Jesus to your children and your children’s children?
Everyone needs to make a Will. As well as being the essential statement of how you want your possessions to be divided up after your death, it can be a fitting expression of your Christian beliefs and values. If you haven’t made your Will yet, the best time to do so is NOW. Many people put it off because it seems morbid and even frightening. But from a Christian perspective, making a Will can be a positive, life-affirming experience.
Your support is vital: and your legacy is a vital source of income for Scripture Union.
By leaving a gift in your Will to Scripture Union, you will help make a permanent difference to the lives of generations of children in theUK, far into the future. It will help us use the Bible to inspire children, young people and adults to know God.
Paul wrote regarding generous giving:
“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:12 (NIV)
How your legacy will bring the good news to the next generation:
Here are some examples of the projects we carry out and the costs involved in each:
- £500 could help us fund a mission or provide two minibuses for Scripture Union’s children’s holidays.
- £1,000 could help finance an evangelist for two missions.
- £6,000 could pay for children’s Bible reading notes at this year’s Scripture Union holidays.
- £10,000 could resource Christian workers in inner city/urban areas.
- £25,000 could pay for an evangelist working with children, young people and families in a growing Christian church.
Your support will allow us to plan ahead.
Thank you from the 20 children who became Christians at one beach mission at Sutton-on-Sea in 2008.
Thank you from the hundreds of regular SUbmerge readers, a teenagers’ Bible Reading Guide, who say that they meet God daily and understand him more because of SUbmerge.
Thank you from a staff member who met their husband while on a Scripture Union beach mission and they now both run the same beach mission as leaders.
There are many stories of how people have come to know God through the different ways Scripture Union provides engagement with the Bible.
Thank you for your continued support in helping Scripture Union to use the Bible to inspire children, young people and adults to know God.

Make a Pledge
Gifts left in wills are really important to Scripture Union England and Wales. However even if you haven't made a will, making a pledge to do so in the future would really help us to find out about your future intentions.
Pledges are not legally binding so by filling out this form you are not committing yourself! You are simply allowing Scripture Union England and Wales to confidently estimate future support for their cause.
Leave a Legacy
If you have already made a will but you want to leave a legacy to a charity you can make an addition or change it without re-writing your current will. This addition is called a codicil.
To leave a legacy to Scripture Union England and Wales please download the codicil form below and take it along to your solicitor.
Please note however that this form is not legally binding on its own and has to be part of your main will. We advise you to seek the advice of a solicitor.
If you have any questions about leaving a legacy to us, please contact Scripture Union England and Wales directly – they will be happy to discuss this with you.
