Join us for a late Summer's ride of 100 miles on the stunning south coast
Sep 23 2012
A choice of 100 mile or 50 mile routes cycling to raise money for Scope.
From the start at Preston Park the ride heads east along the South Coast to Newhaven then cuts inland following the river Ouse as it slices through the South Downs to historic Lewes, the county town of East Sussex. The 50 mile route cuts across at Ringmer whilst the 100 mile route follows Cuckmere River back to the coast road for a cliff top climb up to Beachy Head. What goes up must come down and you'll be rewarded with a flat section through Eastbourne and across Pevensey Levels. It's then along the edge of the High Weald with its beautiful countryside and choppy hills to Ringmer where the routes rejoin.
Both the 50 and 100 mile route cross the Ouse into the Low Weald before heading west below the ridge of the South Downs to Hurstpierpoint. One final push past the 'Devil's Dyke' and its all downhill to the finish offering spectacular views over Brighton and the English Channel.
