Delivering aid to Zimbabwe
Witney postman Ian MacLachlan appeals for sponsorship
Ian MacLachlan, a postman based in Witney near Oxford, is preparing to cycle from John O'Groats to Land's End in aid of a charity run by two of his customers.
‘When I started delivering a year ago, I met John and Rosemarie Troughear and discovered that they head up the Rutendo Trust, which takes care of 35 orphans and four widows in Zimbabwe,' says Ian.

Now John and Rosemarie have become Ian's back-up team as he hopes to raise as much as possible to help buy a home and farm for some of the poorest people in their native Zimbabwe.
Ian sets off from John O'Groats on 3 September, riding one of our delivery bikes, and hopes to arrive in Land's End on 15 September.
‘This is a very worthwhile cause,' says Ian. ‘Every penny I raise will go to making lives a little better.'
