Rhythms Of The World
Registered Charity Number: 1090835
Rhythms of the World (ROTW) is a registered charity (no. 1090835) which uses music and the Arts to engage and unite communities. Your donation will help us to continue our work which started in 1992.
We achieve our charitable objectives by hosting an annual festival of music, dance, cuisine and the Arts and by running our Outreach and Community Arts programmes. The festival is held in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, attracts up to 30,000 people each year and hosts a range of artists ‘from around the World and round the corner’. One third of attendees are children and young people under the age of 18 and one of our six stages is dedicated to young performers.
As a community charity, we aim to keep the festival ticket price as low as possible in order to remain accessible to all. As the charity is run by approximately 800 volunteers, we are able to host a professional event at a fraction of the cost of many other major festivals.
All profits from the festival are reinvested into the following year’s event and used to run our Outreach and Community Arts programmes. The Outreach Programme takes the ethos and energy of ROTW out to groups that might not otherwise consider attending the festival. This includes older people, children and young people and people of all ages with disabilities and special needs. Our Community Arts programme engages local schools and community groups in creating giant pieces of artwork which are then showcased over the festival weekend.
Any donation can be restricted to an area of your choice - you can choose to support a specific artist or area or our Outreach or Community Arts programmes.
