Be Part of a Global Day of Giving - #GivingTuesday
Before #BlackFriday and after #CyberMonday – the important day to shout about is #GivingTuesday on 2nd December.
#GivingTuesday is a new campaign which is trending on Twitter. The simple idea behind it is to encourage businesses and individuals to do something selfless for a good cause, whether it’s making a donation, giving their time or spreading the word. Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is already a part of this social media campaign, and we want you to be too!
As a local charity, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice cares for 140 patients, relatives and carers in West Surrey and North East Hampshire. It has to raise over £15,000 a day to be able to provide all the care and support it gives to terminally ill patients, carers and relatives, and is reliant on the local community to help achieve this.
All the Hospice is asking is that before you get carried away with your Christmas shopping, wrapping and festivities, you consider giving something back to your local community.
Making a donation is easy – just text PHYL79 £3 to 70070, or click here to make a donation online. And if you are on Twitter, you can upload an ‘unselfie’ telling people what you are doing to support your local Hospice. Simply download a #GivingTuesday template from below, write a message on it detailing what you are doing, take a photo of yourself holding it and post it on your Twitter account. Please make sure you add the tags @PTHospice #GivingTuesday #UNselfie in your post.
This fundraising challenge will really bring the local community together to support their local Hospice – caring for and supporting local people who are facing a terminal illness.
Be inspired. Get involved. Give this Tuesday.
