Paisley Abbey's renowned musical tradition dates back to its original foundations nearly 850 years ago. Today the Abbey has one of the finest choirs and is home to one of the finest organs.

Please specify which musical area you would like to support in your donation message:

The Choral Scholarships

  • We have five senior and two junior scholarships.
  • Scholarships are given to those who demonstrate vocal distinction or potential, and help with travel costs and further musical training.

The Organ

  • The organ of Paisley Abbey dates from 1872 when the famous French builder, Aristide Cavaillé -Coll, designed a two-manual and pedal instrument in the nave

Music in General

  • The Abbey's annual music expenditure is around £35,000 covering the cost of choir, organists and music. To help us maintain our rich musical heritage any donations large or small would be most gratefully received.
