The Metropolitan Police Benevolent Fund (the Fund) provides assistance to serving, and former Metropolitan Police Officers and their dependents in need. The Fund receives contributions from serving Metropolitan Police officers for distribution:

 
  • To assist those who find themselves in financial difficulties arising from a variety of reasons e.g. long period of sickness or convalescence following an injury on duty.
  • Provides financial assistance to deserving cases of widows’, widowers’ and partners of former officers.
  • By channeling officers’ contributions from their salaries to the Police Rehabilitation Centre at Goring -on-Thames, which provides convalescence facilities for ill or injured police officers.
  • To support the Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund which provides financial assistance to orphans of former Met or City of London police officers.

The Charity’s income is frequently enhanced by donations and bequests from organisations, companies and members of the public as a sign of appreciation for assistance given by Metropolitan Police Service officers, and are very welcome.
