The Dartmoor 13 Mile Trek
Walk a Land of Myth and Legend for Marie Curie Cancer Care
Oct 13 2013
Brush off your walking boots and head over to Dartmoor in the heart of Devon on Sunday 13th October for the Dartmoor Trek, a 13 mile walk in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
This circular walk starts in Widecombe in the Moor and takes over Hamel Down Ridge, Hound Tor and across a land of myth and legend before you cross the finish line to receive your well deserved medal and certificate and all important Devonshire Cream Tea!
Every walker will get a map of the route on the morning and the route is marked with a series of markers, marshals and checkpoints to make sure no one gets lost on the moors!
Registration for the trek is £15. Once registered you will received a trekking t-shirt to wear on the day and your walkers pack, giving you all the information you will need for the event and hints and tips on raising sponsorship. Marie Curie nurses provide free high quality end of life nursing care to patients in their own home, as well as emotional support to their loved ones. All sponsorship you raise will help to provide more hours of this nursing care in your local community.
Last years Dartmoor Trek raised over £20,000 for the nursing service, be a part of this years walk to help smash through that target! The number of walkers we can permit on the event is limited.
