Good Sport in Glasgow

Date Posted: 18 Nov 2015

With close to 300 people in attendance, on the 11th of November the KidsOut Question of Sport Glasgow event raised nearly £45,000 for disadvantaged children, with the Mortgage Brain team winning first place. Seeing a generous single donation of £10,000, the event raised more than £11,000 in the silent auction, £7,500 in the main auction, and pledges of almost £5,000.
Held at the Old Fruitmarket concert hall, the event marked Glasgow’s sixth fundraising quiz for KidsOut, and the quirky venue provided a unique backdrop for the evening’s meal and entertainment. Featuring KidsOut’s traditional mix of auction and games, for the first time ever the event also included performances by a staff of singing waiters and waitresses.
Using humour to keep everyone on their toes, Grant Stott acted as compère and quizmaster for the evening, and Erin Henderson kindly contributed her voice, accompanied by a guitar during the KidsOut video.
“We would especially like to thank the committee, its chair Pamela Hodgson and all of the donors,” said Laura Cannicott, KidsOut Events Manager. “There are too many to mention them individually, but we really appreciate all of their hard work and generous donations. It is their contributions that made the evening the success that it was.”
The next Question of Sport event in Glasgow will be held on the 9th of November 2016. For more information or to book your place, please visit our Glasgow page, email events@kidsout.org.uk or call 01525 243 228.
