The ISG is often contacted by various media organisations wanting to report on stories linked to ichthyosis, sometimes making television programmes that focus on or include ichthyosis.

Whilst the ISG acknowledges the media often sensationalises or gives inaccurate coverage of certain stories, it also identifies with the good that can come from raising awareness of the condition as a whole.
