The 2013 London to Brighton 100km Challenge in aid of The Hunger Project starts in Richmond Athletic Ground and finishes at Brighton Race Course. Almost 2000 walkers and runners entered 2012’s event.
About the Charity: The Hunger Project operates in 12 programme countries with 380,000 locally trained volunteer leaders who are empowering and training millions more to have a voice in their communities and build a future for their own children. We invest in women, men and kids so they can end their own hunger – please invest in us.
Event Details: It costs £85 per person to register and we ask you to raise £400 for our programmes that invest in women, men, girl and boys across Africa, South Asia and Latin America, helping those living on less than 80 pence a day with a hand-up.
Elite Ultra Marathon runners can expect to complete the challenge in less than 15 hours whilst walkers can expect to complete the course in roughly 24 hours. 2012’s Challenge was won in by a female elite ultra marathon runner in just over 11.5 hours – course record under 9 hours.
