Amber Rudd MP is petitioned to take Natural England to Parliamentary Ombudsman

Date Posted: 18 Jun 2015

The Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change who is the Friends of management Trust & HMRC charity’s MP has now been petitioned to take forward a complaint in regard to Natural England’s handling of Part of the Speckled Wood Estate in Hastings.

The Friends of Speckled Wood Management Trust wrote to Natural England’s Operation Officer after complaint stages were missed from the complaints procedure and long delays in dealing with their complaint had been recognized.   On the 16th June 2015 the Friends of Speckled Wood Management Trust & Charity sent a letter to Natural England Operations Manager and Chairman with details that the Wildlife officer had missed vital information which was in the Public Domain in their report to the Police. Evidence was given to support this.

The process was started after Natural England's Operation Officer South issued a statement as final response.

"We have now gone through all three stages of our complaints procedure to try to address your complaint, and have provided you with our final response. If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of our investigation then should you wish to you can now go through your MP to put your complaint to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman to consider. See http://www.ombudsman.org.uk/."

The Friends of Speckled Wood Management Trust & HMRC Charity has asked for their local MP to sign the paperwork to allow the Parliamentary Ombudsman to investigate Natural England in regard to two complaints. The first complaint is regarding their implementation of their complaint procedure and the second is regarding the advice given to the police by one of their wildlife officers.

The Friends of Speckled Wood Management Trust & HMRC Charity are now awaiting confirmation form the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change that their information has been passed to the Ombudsman.
