Help raise funds for the Alzheimer Society! ....Leading the Fight Against Dementia....
Memory Walks are a series of fundraising walking events taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland every September, all raising money to provide vital support to people living with dementia and help our research to find a cure for the future.
Also if you're interested you can organise your own Memory Walk and Alzheimer Society will provide you with fundraising and training support
Join Alzheimer Society at the Portsmouth Memory Walk.
The Portsmouth Memory Walk will start from Castle Field, the most southern tip of Portsmouth. This sunny seafront spot overlooks the iconic Tudor built SouthseaCastle and is bordered by a grassy mound which used to protect the city from naval attacks.
The short walk will guide you along the seafront path towards South Parade Pier and Canoe Lake with spectacular views of the Isle of Wight and the defensive ring of forts sitting within the waters of the Solent.
The long walk will follow the seafront towards the magnificent Historic Dockyards passing many sites of interest along the way, including Clarence Pier, the iconic Square Tower and Gunwharf Quays.
After enjoying sights of the Spinnaker Tower and fantastic ships such at HMS Warrior in Portsea Alzheimer Society will then head towards Victoria Park for a rest and stroll back towards to Southsea.
Traditional fish and chips and old fashioned seaside amusements will await your return. With live music, children’s entertainment, local stalls and seaside refreshments it will be a great day out for the whole family!
Join Alzheimer Society for this day to remember!
Help raise even more money for Alzheimer’s Society by taking part in the Bupa Memory Mile, comprising the final stretch of your walk. For every walker who takes part in the Bupa Memory Mile, Bupa Care Homes will donate £2.50 to Alzheimer's Society.
