Cycle through one of the world's most volcanic regions
Countless streams, hot springs, and lava fields
Enjoy the solitude as you cycle through a remote area of Iceland
Enjoy a dip in Iceland's Blue Lagoon before returning home
Iceland hosts some of Europe's greatest wilderness areas, which are home to active volcanoes, sheer cliffs, glaciers, thundering waterfalls, steaming lava fields, plunging fjords, boiling mud pools and spouting geysers!
Your tough biking challenge will lead you through this stunning and rugged terrain, which is one of the most beautiful regions in Iceland. You will see the true Iceland as you cycle past volcanoes such as Mount Heckla, and the icecapped Katla on the Myrdallsjökull. As this region is situated in the active volcanic zone you will see a lot more than only volcanoes - be prepared to experience a wide selection of hot springs, bubbling mud pots and giant cracks in the earth.
Although this is a short European cycle, don't be fooled into thinking it is not challenging! The cycling days are long, the terrain is difficult, and you will be expected to help set up camp in the evenings.
This cycle ride is on pure mountain bike terrain. However, there will be no steep downhills and you do not have to have experience on this kind of terrain, although it does help. Whatever your cycling background, you will be awed by the landscapes around you, which is rarely traversed by other cyclists. On your return home you will have the opportunity to have a dip in the thermal pools of the Blue Lagoon before heading to the airport.
